Small acts of kindness build a better world One great story at a time

About Face2Face Stories

Face2Face Stories is a non-profit foundation dedicated to bringing meaningful stories and moments of joy and connection to people in need; hospital patients, seniors, rehab facilities, and sometimes a stranger sitting on a park bench.

Stories have the power to connect and transform us all.

Our trained volunteers visit facilities and patients who might be lifted by an inspirational story and a few minutes with a smiling face.

Our mission is to create a thousand such connections a day in our city, our country, our earth; and in turn, make our world a better place.

Contact us to join our next volunteer training session, learn the life-changing dynamic skill of storytelling and communication. Help bring a tiny drop of good to the world... one story at a time!

Why Stories

“After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.”

                   - Sir Philip Pullman

Stories have the power to connect and transform us all.

Stories transcend generations, they engage us through emotions, and they connect us to others. Through stories, we share passions, sadness, hardships, and joys. We share meaning and purpose.

Stories are about collaboration and connection.

Stories are the common ground that allows people to communicate, overcoming our defenses and our differences. Stories allow us to understand ourselves better and to find our commonality with others.

The stories are short and can keep a resident's attention. They look forward to the next meeting to see more videos. You can cover multiple patients in a short amount of time. Great stimulation and conversation topics post story.

Honestly this story really just hits so close to home because as activities staff we work closely with our residents and its easy to get attached and once you know parts of someone's life that once made them happy then now they have lost interests due to being disabled or whatever the case is, is a hard thought to take in. so being able to hone in on that happiness and get them reengaged in their hobbies is really exciting.

This program could not have come at a better time. Residents have been isolated in their rooms due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, residents were able to enjoy the program stories in the halls with masks on. They were laughing and requesting to watch more!

Nothing reaches the heart and soul of a person better than a good story. Stories have the power to capture the interest of a human being and reach into the deepest recesses of their emotional and spiritual being. Stories leave lasting impressions that have the power to transform sadness to joy depression to inspiration. Stories stimulate the mind and move mountains in ones core Face2Face Stories is the organization that brings joy to a senior in a facility or a patient in a hospital or to anyone who need a little cheering up. I am so glad to be part of this organization.

I used to volunteer and do my best to visit with the elderly and make conversation but it was often times forced and awkward. Ever since I started with Face2Face Stories and I have a great story to tell I feel like I am giving over something more beneficial and I am so much more well received by patients in need. I went to a nursing home on the upper west side and went into several patients rooms and told an inspiring story. The response I received from the patients was so heartwarming. Patients thanked me so much for coming and brightening up their day and were very anxious for me to return with more stories. Being able to share a wonderful story with someone is very gratifying and I feel honored to be part of this organization.
